Dry hair, skin itchiness all these are signs of winter's. Winter is not less than bane for dry skin type people. It makes their skin even worse. So, without cursing winter much more, welcome it with both your arms open and a smiley face as here I have listed the ways through which you will again start loving your skin even in winters.
Avoid Hot Water Showers - Winter tends to push us towards a bath tub full of hot and steamed water. But, are you aware that along with relaxation, hot water also gift us itchiness and dry skin by releasing natural oil from our body and scalp ? Yes, hot and steamed water effect natural oil of our skin and scalp as well. It leads to itchiness and affect your hair growth by releasing natural oil. Always go for lukewarm water and that's enough for bath. Avoid showers with hot water.
Moisturizing - Winter are meant for dry skin. Sometimes even the moisturizers cheat us, so for that, make a habit of using a thick moisturizer instead of using water or gel - like consistency moisturizer.
The best time for applying moisturizer in winters is just after the shower. Gently dab the excess water off from your skin surface leaving it a little wet and then apply moisturizer.
Moisturizer along with water droplets nourish your skin layers from inside.
Oil Massage - Apply oilve or coconut oil on your skin in the night before bed. At night, your skin is on repairing mode. Skin massaged with coconut oil before shower helps in maintaining the natural oil of our skin and hair too. For skin, coconut oil is not less than a wonderful moisturizer and for hair, it is good in terms of conditioning your hair.
Wear Cotton Clothes Beneath Your Woollen Clothes - Woollen!! Woollen!!! Woollen!!!! We all wanted to be surrounded with woollen clothes from all the four directions in winters. But wearing woollen without a base of cotton may lead to itchiness after sometime and your skin will start feeling discomfort. Must assure that the cloth which is in direct contact with your body should be of cotton material.
Avoid Regular Use of Soaps and Shampoos - Winter leave our skin dry and itchy by affect its natural oil. With the regular use of soaps, this condition will become even worse and with the regular use of shampoos, hair growth as well it's strength will be affected.
Use a mild or glycerin soap and avoid standing too long in the shower.
Use Sunscreen and Avoid Mud/Clay Face Packs - Sun usually play hide and seek during winters beneath clouds and we too take it as a simple game, for which our skin needs to pay a big amount. We usually skip sunscreen in winters and think that it's cloudy but sun is always their to affect your skin with it's highly dangerous UV rays. So, always apply a sunscreen before stepping out even in winters.
Clay face packs are good for oily skin as they suck excess oil from your skin making it normal in summers but in winters, it is good to be avoided. Skin already becomes dry during winters and if we would apply mud or clay face, it will affect your natural oil leaving your skin highly dry.
Face Packs and Scrubs - Keeping all the precautions, it is necessary to choose and apply a good scrub and pack for your dry skin during winters.
You can go for a face scrub made up of honey and coffee or of honey and sugar. Avoid over-exfoliation. It should be not more than once or twice a week.
Again you can go for a face pack made up of wheat flour and milk or simply you can apply curd (only if it suits your skin).
