The Pre-Bridal Self Care Regime | Drop-dead Gorgeous

The wedding season has started and not only the bride(s)-to-be but everyone who are going to be a part of this wedding season, who are going to a part of someone's haldi & sangeet ceremony are excited to flaunt their glowing skin. 
Indian weddings are always incomplete without that former ubtan recipe.
 You may have surely seen albums of your  parents and relatives' marriage, their skin glow naturally without much make-up. The reason behind this was the bridal ubtan that our parents, grandparents and relatives are using from years ago. Whether the wedding is yours or of your friend, you'll surely want to glow up, right ? So, keeping in mind the tradition of Indian wedding, I have brought you that former ubtan recipe and some additions to your pre-bridal face and body care regime. 

1. The Bridal Ubtan - Starting with the most wonderful and magical regime,that is, ubtan. As I have told that Indian weddings are always incomplete without ubtan and if you want to flaunt that radiant glow, you need to start using this, say, before 1 or 2 months of your special day. Use it twice a week for good results. Now, to prepare this, you will need-
Gram flour or Besan
Milk or Rose Water
Turmeric
Saffron (as per your convenience)
Mustard oil
Mix saffron and milk in a bowl and keep it aside and start mixing gram flour and turmeric in a bowl, add some mustard oil and start mixing it with the help of milk (with saffron) in small-small amounts. Make a thick paste, apply and let it dry completely. After the ubtan has dried up, instead of washing it out with water, remove it with using mustard oil. Apply mustard oil in your hands and start massaging it. 
While the ubtan is removing, you will feel the removal of dead cells and tanning from your body. This wonderful traditional ubtan will do wonders to your skin. Give it a try!

2. Body Massage - Gifting your body, oil massage, is the best companion of the above regime. Try to massage your body with olive oil or with the help of our traditional hero ingredient,i.e., mustard oil. Oil massage will help lighten up your skin and specially will relax your body and will remove anxiousness.

3. Face and Eye Care -  As we are talking of self care regime for wedding and some special days and that too in winters, how can we forgot of our beautiful faces and sensitive eyes. In winters, skin demand something extra of, literally, everything, extra of nourishment and care and if we are focusing on weddings, those sleep-less nights can't be ignored. 
For this, try to use a homemade cleanser made of gram flour and honey, this will nourish,as well as, cleanse your face. Focusing on eye area, start using almond oil, for this will reduce the puffy-ness of your eyes and will help maintain the health of your sensitive eyes.

Please do not use the edible almond oil. This will be the most weirdest thing. Please go for the almond oil which is specially prepared to be used on your skin and eye.

4. Hair Care - Functions, performances, hair styling, heat and what not..., No doubt that your hair will suffer for sure. So, why not help them out to remain healthy even after facing so much heat, colour and chemicals. Start using your homemade hair mask of egg and aloe vera gel (in case you do not want to apply egg, you can go for curd too.). Egg will help your hair to shine while aloe vera helps in smoothening and detangling as well. Apply using this mask once a week,  before a month from your special day.
